Kiwi Crossing is a free planning tool for New Zealanders thinking about moving to Australia. It's designed to work without collecting anything about you.
The short version
- No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for.
- Your answers aren't stored or sent anywhere. Your intake answers, salary, cost edits and ticked plan items stay in your browser's memory for the current visit, and disappear when you close or refresh the page.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies.
The one outside request: exchange rates
To show today's Australian-to-NZ dollar rate, the app requests the latest rate from two free public services:
- Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates)
- ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com), used as a backup
These requests contain no information you've entered. Like any website request, they reveal technical details such as your IP address and browser type to those services, under their own privacy policies. If they can't be reached, the app uses a saved default rate.
Offline use and the app cache
If you install the app or visit more than once, your browser keeps a copy of the app's own files (pages, icons) so it can open offline. That cache never contains your answers. You can clear it any time in your browser's site settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Hosting
The website host may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to run and secure the service. We don't use these to identify you.
Links to other websites
The app links to official government websites in New Zealand and Australia. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Not advice
Kiwi Crossing provides general information only. It isn't migration, tax or legal advice. Verify with official sources or a registered migration agent or tax adviser.
